Kelly Long, RRT, CCT, LMT, RYT-500, C-IAYT is the 2023 National Respiratory Patient Advocacy finalist. She is a Program Coordinator, Respiratory Therapy Navigator, at McLaren Lapeer Region. Kelly's healthcare model is patient-centered care, where she puts the patient as the focus of care and works to face the many challenges that arise between the hospital, discharge from the acute-care setting, and the home. She works diligently to connect the patient to the appropriate resources, increasing the likelihood of better outcomes and lessening potential exacerbations. Each patient receives a care plan based on their unique and ever-changing needs. Patient education is at the core of the care they receive.
