The FACES Foundation continues to acknowledge outstanding respiratory therapists with our signature program, The PHIL Award. This is the only national hospital-based award that honors RTS as nominated by patients, families, and other caregivers.

Respiratory Care Week is an annual October event dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the contributions of respiratory therapists as an essential part of the healthcare team. This past October over 90 outstanding RTS were honored with The PHIL Award.  Congratulations to each of the honorees and your team.

Lisa and Sharman attended the AARC International Congress 2024 in Orlando, FL.

National Respiratory Patient Advocacy Award 2024 Nominations come from anywhere a respiratory therapist provides care.  This is a collaboration with The FACES Foundation and AARC. The honoree and finalist were presented at The Awards Celebration at AARC Congress in Orlando. 

Honoree - Brigitte Trace, BA, RRT  
She is the Respiratory Patient Education & Discharge Coordinator at Craig Hospital in Englewood, CO. According To Diane Reinhard DNP, MBA, MSCIS, RN - VP hospital Services and Community Impact Bridgette demonstrates an unparalleled commitment to advocating for the well-being and rights of patients with spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries in the acute rehabilitation and home settings. 

Recognizing systemic barriers that often hinder patients' access to essential resources and services, Brigette has been a tireless advocate for legislative reform and insurance reimbursement policies.

Finalist -Tracy Edwards, RRT
Respiratory Chronic Care Specialist at Children's Hospital Colorado.  According to her nominator Meliza Walsh, Assistant Director Respiratory Care at Texas Children's Hospital/West Campus - Tracy provides education to caregivers and patients who acquire a tracheostomy as part of their clinical care plan. Tracy creates opportunities for medically complex patients. She partners with local DME companies to ensure patients have access to equipment, supplies and care they need to have their desired quality of life at home.
